Bovendonk is more than a location for meetings, celebrations, or overnight stays. We want to preserve historic Bovendonk for future generations while simultaneously being meaningful to our guests, employees, and the local community. That is why we invest in our monument, in people, and in sustainable solutions.
Our mission: to preserve Bovendonk
Our primary mission is the sustainable preservation of Bovendonk. We operate the monument as a business and event venue, wedding venue, and hotel. We reinvest the revenue generated from these activities into the maintenance and preservation of the building. Therefore, with every meeting, wedding, overnight stay, or other gathering at Bovendonk, you contribute to the continued existence of this historic location.
Our vision: hospitality with social value
We believe that hospitality and social engagement go well together. Bovendonk is a place where people meet, develop, and experience important moments.
As a recognized training company, we offer students internships and work-study placements within the hospitality sector. Furthermore, since 2021, Bovendonk has been an official training hotel. We also collaborate with social organizations to offer suitable opportunities to people for whom a regular workplace is not a given.
Sustainability in practice
For us, sustainability is not just about big plans, but above all about the choices we make every day.
- Heritage preservation: proceeds are invested in the maintenance and preservation of Bovendonk.
- Water conservation: we use our own water purification system and water-saving taps in our hotel rooms.
- Energy saving: the card system in the hotel rooms prevents unnecessary energy consumption.
- Local and responsible products: where possible, we choose local, seasonal, and Fair Trade products.
- Sustainable travel: Bovendonk is accessible by public transport and bicycle. Eight charging points are available for electric cars.
- Social cooperation: together with organizations such as WVS and SDW, we offer people suitable work and development opportunities.
- Training for the future: as a recognized training company, we help students gain practical experience within the hospitality sector.
Sustainable meetings and stays
Organizations that consciously choose a sustainable meeting location will find history, hospitality, and social commitment all in one place at Bovendonk. We also constantly seek ways to make conscious choices for events, parties, weddings, and hotel stays.
For us, sustainability is not a finished project. We continue to look at where we can save energy, water, and raw materials, and how we can further increase our societal contribution.
